Poll should contrib/boost be split up so as to reduce compile time? Since a new version has just came out I think now is a good time to vote and or sugestions.
Hello,
Sounds great for me if it reduces the compile time.
The compile time will be less if you don't need all the library's of course.
I'm not disagree with the split unless you can't maintain those ports (thing that never passed yet with you)
Thats a joke right :-) it wont be any harder for me to maintain and personally I would install the lot but I'm thinking about others that don't need every boost library.
Also, I only have 'aqsis' dependent on 'boost', which I'll try to adjust it when having some time.
boost-<library name> like boost-iostreams or boost-regex, so if your port of 'aqsis' required boost-regex, you would save yourself considerable time to do a "prt-get depinst aqsis". I have done a "prt-get dependent --all boost" and there is not many ports that depend on it, which is why i asked on the mailing list, in case others not in contrib rely on boost and would like to see it split up, personally I'm disappointed at the lack of feedback which goes to show no one seems to care what happens. So if no one disagrees I'll split it up.
Thanks for your great job.
