Hi, It seems there are duplicates of pkgutils, ports and possibly other core packages in contrib. I don't mind people duplicating core (or opt) ports in their personal repositories, but could we please keep contrib free of them?

+1, rpm2targz is one of them too. I guess someone hasn't read the contrib goals: * Create a large collection of user-created ports which work well together. * Improve individual ports by encouraging cooperation between maintainers. * Make it easier for users to get the software they want from one place. * Avoid excess work, as currently many duplicate ports exist. Adding duplicates doesn't avoid excess work, it isn't very co-operative and certainly not easier for the hypothetical "user". -- Antti Nykänen | aon@iki.fi | http://aon.iki.fi/

Like someone said, the order in /etc/prt-get.conf can go above the dups... always core/opt before contrib. It´s a solution to take care of them. My opinion about, is to keep dups in private repos. Dups ports in contrib -1. Only a opinion from a CRUX user. Reegards.
