The aliases file should be updated to reflect the name changes for
j2sdk/j2re. Along those lines, and I know we discussed this at CRUXCon
2k4, but perhaps this file could be manipulated by commands like the
lock file? e.g. prt-get alias jre jdk; prt-get listaliased, etc.. This
would remove the burden of bumping a prt-get release when new alias
situations arise, and would allow users to create their own aliases for
situations the rest of us may not be aware of or need to be aware of.
Just an idea.
Also, just a general question, has anyone modified pkgmk to exit with a
unique status when failing because of NEW .footprint entries, and if so,
does prt-get have the ability to test for this? Rebuilding a large
software base like a full gnome deployment with all of the goodies
becomes very tedious and time consuming without these options.
