Hello.
I remember, there was a talk about making mentioned repos official
ones... or at at least adopting contrib rules in a way that it could be
possible to have: "Depends on: bar" in some contrib port, while bar is
only present in kde (gnome or xfce) ports tree.
Otherwise someone will either have to duplicate some ports in contrib,
change Maintainer field, track changes and upgrades or just leave it in
a private repo.
ContribRules[1] will look less simple, but if those repos get official
status, it may sound like:
"Provide all packages for your ports that are not yet in official repos"

P.S.
I know, the word "official" sounds a little odd in crux development
context.

Hi everybody,
For 2.4, I plan to 'borrow' qt4 from Johannes' repo and adapt/patch
the few ports depending on qt3 to use the new version.
As you may know, qt 3.x is now considered obsolete, but at least
kde depends on it; I suggest we move it to the kde or contrib repo;
if Alan or a contrib member feel like taking maintainership please
let me know.
On a little releated note, I'm dropping maintainership of the
following opt ports:
apache-tomcat
firefox-acroread-plugin
libsdl
sdl_gfx
sdl_mixer
sdl_net
sdl_ttf
zsnes
As usual, we'll keep in the 2.4 branch for a while, feel free
to adopt them if interested.
Regards,
Simone
