Hi,
I want to write a summary of all available and usefull tools to manage the Crux ports system. Please just write me the name and the URL where one could get the tool which I should add to the list of port tools.. http://clc.berlios.de/index.php?p=tools could be a good starting point; both httpup and prt-get are mentioned there (which is what I feel responsible for ;-)). prt-get's web page is http://www.hta-bi.bfh.ch/~winkj/software_prt-get.html but outdated and subject to move. All of these tools are in the ports tree, so the exact download urls are not written there.
Jürgen's ck4up has made it into the CLC tree lately and ca be found at http://home.t-online.de/~juergen.daubert/crux/ck4up It's not restricted to use with ports (neither is httpup), but it's very helpful if you want to check port homepages for updates. Most scripts I use personally are from prt-utils; the others have a functional replacement there. prt-utils is also in the ports tree and mentioned on "tools and scripts". Hope this helps, Regards Johannes P.S. You might want to repeat you request on the CRUX mailing list, as I assume many people have written small scripts to simplify certain tasks -- Johannes Winkelmann mailto:jw@tks6.net Biel, Switzerland http://jw.tks6.net
