#20: Dependencies are not always satisfiable --------------------+------------------------------------------------------- Id: 20 | Status: assigned Component: ports | Modified: Mon Dec 26 11:12:50 2005 Severity: normal | Milestone: Priority: high | Version: Owner: sten | Reporter: centericq@ukr.net --------------------+------------------------------------------------------- Changes (by sten): * status: new => assigned Comment: The FAM issue is in the process of being resolved. My subjective experiences with FAM have been highly unsatisfactory. It, or the way konqueror talks to FAM, as FAM talks to the kernel via DNotify seem to destabilize my KDE desktop more then just leaving FAM out. I'm in the process of testing the latest version of gamin, and would appreciate any horror/success stories resulting from switching from FAM to gamin. Gamin is default for Ubuntu/Kubuntu, so it might be worthwhile. It can be found in my httpup repository: http://members.shaw.ca/nick.steeves/ports/ I'll drop those gnome-vfs, and gst-plugins dependencies if the GNOME stuff is going to be excluded from crux.nu for a very long time--they're just there so that a user can track footprint mis-matches. I have no interest, or responsibility for the maintenance of iproute2, but have adopted libmikmod. -- Ticket URL: <https://crux.nu/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/ticket/20> CRUX <http://crux.nu/> CRUX
