Hi Cruxers,
Hello Dieter,
I'm the guy currently maintaining the Arch installation tools, I looked at your installation guide and noticed some similar goals, so this may be of interest to you: http://dieter.plaetinck.be/can_we_build_a_simple_cross-distribution_installa...
What is defined as "simple" ?
I don't think it gets much simpler (IHMO) than what we have with the CRUX distribution where you install mostly by hand.
We have a "setup" script that really (all it does) is allow the user to select a bunch of packages they want to install off the cd.
I don't really think an "installation framework" or a more feature-rich "installer" is within the scope of CRUX or it's goals. (I could be wrong).
cheers James
Everyone has his own set of compromises, and I don't want this to turn into a semantic discussion about what the word "simple" means. Just thought I should mention it, if you guys would be interested, it could turn out beneficial to both of us. If you don't care, that's just fine for me too ;) Dieter
