1.) It looks like the docbook version of the handbook has not been updated for some time. Do we want to drop the docbook version and only maintain the wiki page? This eases the maintenance, but on the other site we only have the html and the txt view.
Yes, the docbook version is no longer used, and I think the print version from the wiki is nice enough if we want to convert it as pdf: http://crux.nu/~sip/test/hb23.pdf
2.) Regarding a fakeroot advice in the handbook: should i merge the existing FakerootPorts wiki page with the handbook or do we want to keep this page. I suggest the second way: Only a short hint in the handbook refering to the detailed wiki page.
3.) Another idea i have is to add an advice to prtverify in the "Package Guidelines"-section. What do you think?
I suggest we add a "good practices" or "useful tools" chapter to introduce things like prtverify (prt-utils in general), fakeroot.
5.) Last question: What is the "setup-chroot" command for?
does the following: $ mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev $ mount --bind /tmp /mnt/tmp $ mount -t proc proc /mnt/proc $ mount -t sysfs none /mnt/sys $ chroot /mnt /bin/bash It's meant as a shortcut for the most boring part of an installation, but I think we should keep both options documented in the handbook. -- Simone Rota Bergamo, Italy - http://www.varlock.com
