I also added a note to avoid HTML/multipart messages, and to not CC the original sender since they're on the list anyway.
but something we should keep in mind about the top posting, gmail doesnt let you not do it. It's designed that way unless you erase the whole email. Actually, that's not that bad; if the gmail user follows the rule to only quote the relevant parts, you want to go through the message anyway; starting on top is the easiest way for most human beings.
