Hey,
I'd like to introduce a idea of mine to make sure I don't forget about it ;-)
Never thought about a notepad? :-P
I think it could be a nice idea to have some kind of way to request software to be ported for CRUX. Before everyone goes wild I don't want this to be public, more of an internal thing: I sometimes find software I think would fit very well in our projects, but don't have the experience with this kind of software nor need to port it. In such a case I'd just create a porting request hoping that someone might pick it up.
That is a good idea. An internal list of "wanted" ports could help make CRUX a more complete solution in several fields (server, desktop, thin client...). I'd also extend the idea to /unmaintained ports: someteime I find that some useful progam is no longer maintained and while I don't use it (or use it seldomly) I think it could be a useful addition to /contrib.
