Manually setting keymap with loadkeys works.

udev's thing - it keeps two children ready (and there's far more during activity - e.g. try udevadm trigger && sleep 0.1 && ps f -eF) As for consoles, there seems to be a small problem in kbd 1.15.3 regarding loadkeys's options (it worked fine in 1.15.2) - neither --console nor -C handle more than 1. Fixup pushed. Thanks for checking out this stuff.
