I agree that at least wireless-tools and rp-pppoe are good candidates for core and for the iso... I also think that mdadm and/or lvm2 (as Rxi suggested on the ppc forum) should get into core... maybe they have just been left behind as it looks like Per meant to put something to allow software-raid installation of the root partition (i see mdadm is still in the not-yet-updated Makefile).
