Hi there, i'd like to add my Quick Install Reference to the wiki. This will make it better accessible for the community and easier to maintain for me. In case you agree with that, there is one question left: Where should i add the reference? - as extra wiki-page - as new paragraph in the handbook (under appendix f.e.) - or other suggestions? Regards, Till -- http://www.tbmnet.de

Hey, I vote for a dedicated wiki page. Regards, Simone -- Simone Rota Bergamo, Italy - http://www.varlock.com

Hi there, I'd like to take Till's mail as a reason to bring up something quite related regarding our website: I'd like to suggest that we rename the "public wiki" to just wiki, and stop calling the regular website "wiki". This may be somewhat silly since it is a wiki anyway, but it seems that users don't understand the idea, or dislike the idea of the "privileged" main wiki. I think we all agree that the core of our main website should be non-public (news, downloads, about, handbook etc.). Many of the other pages like the howtos could go to the wiki, maybe some protected. I think many things from http://crux.nu/Main/Documentation http://crux.nu/Main/Development could go there. This would at the same time make our main website slimmer, and increase the value of the current "public wiki", which hasn't really taken off since it has this "the other/lesser wiki" aftertaste. Till's reference guide is something I'd consider a typical candidate for the new wiki. Finally, we might play with CSS's to make the wiki look different, so that it's more obvious in which section you are. Any comments on that? As for me, it's mostly about the links hierarchy/logic. For someone searching the information it is unnatural to go to the "Documentation" section and then to search in "Public". Current situation just looks odd and is acceptable only if pmwiki (which I am not familiar with) has administration restrictions, such that all publicly editable pages must reside below some fixed URL and so on. It would be helpful to organize docs by categories (not by permissions) keeping a way for some broader group of users to add links to the "protected" (say, Documentation and Development) pages. The simple way is to make contrib members a slightly more privileged wiki group. Is it possible just to move most of the public articles there? What about grammatical issues and overall quality?

"PmWiki requires every page to be a member of a group. A group is like a wiki within a wiki; it can have its own presentation look, security controls and navigation aids. With default configuration, WikiWords are only searched inside the current group, and you use either |OtherGroup/MyWikiWord| or |OtherGroup.MyWikiWord| to refer to pages in other groups" Best regards, Jose V Beneyto
