Hi Jay,
Bolek forwarded this mail to me. I am looking into this. I can probably get you a room for a week with internet access, as long as you can assure me about the safety of the contents accessed through the university webservers. I have no doubt it will be fine. I need you to be aware of our concerns. I will check with the University brass about this tomorrow. Meanwhile can you send me on your official stationary (if available) the agenda for this meeting. I am going to need this to give it to them (the university) to request a room for a week.
As you know, I have organized the Linux User Group at the university. I would love for you guys to give us a 1-2 hour workshop and answer questions.
Let me know what you think.
Ram

Hello Professor,
This is Jay Dolan, I graduated in 2002, and attended the alumni meeting this past spring. How are you?
I'm doing well. Still working and living in this area. I'm employed as a full time software engineer, developing web based retail and CRM systems.
One of my hobbies, or passions, that I picked up these past few years has been the development of a GNU/Linux distrubution called Crux[1]. I'm one of a team of less than twenty that packages, distributes, and maintains the operating system. It's a very interesting project. We attempt to tame bleeding edge open source software like Linux 2.6, udev, gcc 3.4, etc..
Last year, the team held our first anual summit in Stockholm, Sweden. I attended, and found the meeting to be very productive and enjoyable. As Boston was suggested as a meeting place this year, I've been asked to host and coordinate the group.
I'm writing to ask if the University could provide us with a room, or part of a room, to conduct our daily meetings in. The conference is for 1 week, that of November 7th. There will be between 5 and 10 persons attending, myself included.
All we require is a relatively quiet place to work, preferably with some sort of Internet access. Our meetings are mostly brainstorming and hacking sessions. If you feel as tho the student body would be interested, we could offer a 1 hour presentation on the project, or certain aspects of it that pertain to a given course/subject.
Some of the team members attending are extremely bright, and are coming from all over the world (Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and the US). I would really appreciate it if my alma mater welcomed them, in the spirit of research and progress in software development.

I look forward to your response. Feel free to ask for any clarifications.
Best regards,
Jay Dolan Software Engineer, Systems Analyst Windmill Cycles, Inc. 508.999.4000

Yea, I'll figure something out, and expand on the agenda a bit more.
