Hi there! Which package needs core/bin86? prt-get dependent bin86 doesn't give any dependent packages. What's the reason that it's in core? Thanks! Then, please apply the patch below... And in: http://crux.nu/Main/Documentation the link to CRUX PPC iBook HowTo by Anselm R. Hi, Johannes,
Which package needs core/bin86?
core/lilo
Thanks! Then, please apply the patch below...
Please read http://crux.nu/Main/PortGuidelines to learn which dependencies to list.
Thanks for the pointer. However, what is the technical reason that those should not be listed? Clemens Koller _______________________________ R&D Imaging Devices Anagramm GmbH Rupert-Mayer-Str. 45/1 81379 Muenchen Germany http://www.anagramm.de Phone: +49-89-741518-50 Fax: +49-89-741518-19

Otherwise, we'd end up listing a rather large number of ports in every other port; i.e. every port would depend on the toolchain, many ports would depend on sed/grep/etc., autotools etc. This would also lead to circles in the dependency graph and therefore break our dependency model. Also see https://crux.nu/bugs/?do=details&id=17 -- Johannes Winkelmann mailto:jw@smts.ch Zurich, Switzerland http://jw.smts.ch

Okay.
Thanks. I did some more search on bin86 dependencies. There seems only lilo and dis86 depending on bin86, so bin86 is not needed if you don't want to use lilo (or dis86). Only lilo needs bin86, and only during build-time. See: http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-dev/2002-July/026777.html Is there a place around CRUX that stuff down? Well... here it is.
