Hi, Here's a quick summary of yesterday's meeting: 1. move mandir to /usr/share: Same numbers (generated with attached mancount script): mandir in Pkgfile | /usr/man in fp | likely needs change to go to /usr/share /usr/ports/core: 38/93/55 /usr/ports/opt: 90/225/135 /usr/ports/contrib: 78/251/173 In other words, if we'd switch to mandir=/usr/share/man now, we'd have to change more ports than we have to now. Therefore, we'll defer this change until the ratios change. 2. IRC logs We do want to keep the public IRC logs. Apparently, there was a problem with clb not reconnecting before; if anyone realizes that the logs aren't updated, please let me know, and I'll look into that. 3. git ports(8) driver We'll provide an updated driver to merge the ideas we discuss on the ML and IRC, and do some testing. If the testing is successful, we can consider switching from rsync to git along with the 2.5 release. 4. gmane posting As you probably read, posting through gmane is possible now. Thanks to Antti for testing :-). Cheers, Johannes -- Johannes Winkelmann mailto:jw@smts.ch Zurich, Switzerland http://jw.smts.ch
