I tried to actually build the xchat port from <a href="http://crux.danm.de/ports/crux-2.1/opt64/xchat">http://crux.danm.de/ports/crux-2.1/opt64/xchat</a> and it failed. The reason was that perl was'nt compiled with '-fPIC'.
<br><br>Is there any reason for '-fPIC' to not be in '/etc/pkgmk.conf' by default?<br>I added it to both CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS and recompiled perl. then xchat and it worked just fine. I'm just thinking if it will do any harm to have it in by default, or if it would be better to manually add it in the Pkgfile...

I just want to say thanx for making this 64bit version of CRUX.<br><br>CRUX is my alltime favorite Linux distro, and I'm very happy that I can continue to use CRUX now that I've bought myself a athlon64x2<br><br>I have one question. How come not all the 64bit ports from
