Hello, at irc channel was a talk about the needed of new contrib members. Someone proposed to make a query in channel's topic and I made one directly on channel. Why wait to people became to be one contrib member? Why not recruit members? Core/dev members or contrib with experiencie can take a look to private repos, look for ports that are not in contrib and try to talk to maintainer to propose him to became a contrib member and maintain that port in contrib. With time and experiencie may be he can give a hand to other contrib members who maintain lot of ports. Also can be added to contrib a few "interesting/well done" ports from private repos. Only an idea. I hope it can be discussed here and we can read opinions or another suggestions. (on irc channel did not get any of them). Sorry if this is a crazy idea. Reegards. Hi, I've just updated my xorg-6.9 port to xorg-7.2. Now I get following error compling Xaw3d: imake -DUseInstalled -I/usr/lib/X11/config Imakefile.c:34: error: Imake.tmpl: No such file or directory imake: Exit code 1. Stop. Have someone a solution for that problem? Sorry for my english. Regards, Markus

Hello, i am trying to maintain a port of emacs that accesses the emacs cvs repository to get the sources. however regarding versioning i was trying to be keen and inserted version=cvs-$(date %G) release=$(date +%j) on the long run - giving me a new version each year and a new release everyday i ask for it. however prt-get was misbehaving and eating more and more memory. strace showed that is was sitting in some sort of loop... is this at all a good idea?! i guess not from a methodical point of view. But what about prt-get? sincerely matthias

Hi, id3lib & libid3 in contrib appear to be the same with different maintainers. Is there some kind of aliasing feature in crux to handle this? -- paul wisehart

Crux and WLAN

Hello, I have a question. I've bought old IBM ThinkPad T21 and Linksys WPC54G V3. I wonder how to installed Crux on it. I have no net (wireless card dosen't work) I think it should works with Ndiswrapper, but it is in opt, but no at CD. I think the only way is to download the source in Windows and then build in in Crux. Or maybe is other way? I think Ndiswrapper should be added to CD in the next version of Crux. What do you think about it? Pkgfile question

Hi, i'm trying to make a port for a package (liblockfile from debian). the package name at the download source contains an underscore (_) character. the source line in the Pkgfile is: source=(http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/libl/$name/$name_$version.ta… when i do a pkgmk in my port directory, i get the following: =======> ERROR: Source file '/usr/ports/oddelement/liblockfile/1.06.1.tar.gz' not found (use option -d to download). note the file name part of the error message only contains the $version. the $name is gone. I think it has something to do with this line in pkgmk: local FILE="`echo $1 | sed 's|^.*://.*/||g'`" (line 36) when i simulate this on the command line, i get this: # echo http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/libl/liblockfile/1.06.1.tar.gz |sed 's|^.*://.*/||g' 1.06.1.tar.gz # it seems that what is happening is that the sed line is stripping the $name part of the source line at the underscore. I'm having trouble getting this to work. anyone have any suggestions? thx, J

OpenOffice issue

Hi everyone After migrating to Crux 2.2 and therefore compiling X11R7.1 I'm not able to start OpenOffice any more. It quits telling me this: #soffice soffice.bin: xcb_xlib.c:50: xcb_xlib_unlock: Assertion `c->xlib.lock' failed. /usr/bin/soffice: line 236: 4730 Aborted "$sd_prog/$sd_binary" "$@" I recompiled a bunch of ports, including xorg-libxcb and others.
