Hi Johannes. Sure. There shouldn't be such risks...Many popular lists are open to gmane posts now, and no one I know is experiencing spam. I'm not aware if there's a risk for increased spam, but judging by the information on gmane.org it shouldnt. In any case, could you help us test that, since no one of the devs seems to use posting via gmane on a regular basis. new version of portdb

I've written a new version of portdb that allows results to be displayed in XML http://crux.nu/~lucas/portdb/ To get the XML output simply add &f=xml to any url. If you're interested the code is at, http://crux.nu/~lhazel/portdb/index.php.txt I'm sure I suck at PHP5. Bring colours to crux.

PKGBUILD2Pkgfile

Hi all, Here's a little Bash script that converts a PKGBUILD (the equivalent of Pkgfile in Arch Linux) to Pkgfile, plus the md5sums and install scripts. Download all files in http://repos.archlinux.org/viewvc.cgi/[Package Name]/repos/core-i686/ to a folder, and run PKGBUILD2Pkgfile there. I wrote it as I migrated from Arch and had to convert all the custom PKGBUILDs. It should save you some time when the CRUX repos don't have a certain package, but Arch has. But be sure to double check the resulting Pkgfile. best, Colin

Separate build systems

I've been using CRUX for about 6 months now and I'm getting more familiar with it, but would like to explore a bit more. My idea is to build my packages in a chrooted or even dual booted environment in order to create a somewhat binary version of my system. Is anyone on the list doing something like this? Or am I just being silly?
