Colord and polkit-gnome start problem

Hello, I have Cinnamon almost running. But I have two packages colord and polkit-gnome where no sysvinit start/stop scripts are compiled. Can anyone help me figure out how to make this packages so I can try if Cinnamon starts now. gtk3 build error

xfce4 freezes when open a file

Hello, When I use the filemanager to go to /usr/ports and I choose a port. Then I get a choice which programm I want to use to open it. I fill in the custom choice nano and press open. After that the desktop freezes complete Even crtl-alt-del does nothing anymore. Roelof

cinnamon javascript problem

Hello, When I build cjs from my own repo it failed with a lot of javascript files. I cannot post them here because xterm does not allow me to copy/past it. I compiled first gnome-common and then spidermonkey for the mozjs185 package. Then I try to compile cjs but it fails. My repo can be found here : https://bitbucket.org/rwobben/cinnamon/src I hope someone is willing to help me figure out how to solve this ? Roelof

X is not starting after nvidia binary install

I did a clean install from the install dvd. After that I did install the binary driver with prt-get install nvidia Then gl-select use nvidia Then I installed xfce according to the manual. But when I log in as root then I see a no screens found error message. Xorg --configure does not work. How to solve this ? Roelof

xfce build problems (pango and fontconfig)

I try to install xfce4 from ports. It fails on that it cannot find the pango,gir file. So I try to rebuild pango with the --enable-introspection That one fails with this message : checking for Harfbuzz yes checking for fontconfig no checking for corext no checking for cairo no configure error: Could not enable any backends. So I took the next step to rebuild font-config with --enable-introspection. But it fails also with this message: checking wether ln -s works yes checking system type Invalid configuration '/' machine '/' not recognized configure error / bin.sh ./config.sub failed. Roelof

stable DE or WM

Hello, I tried to install MATE and XFCE. Mate cannot be workable and xfce freezes all the time. Is there a DE or WM which is stable so finally I can work on Cinnamon. I can try KDE4 but that one costs me a lot of time. Roelof
