poppler update to 0.59.0 breaks texlive. I guess it's an upstream problem (see log extract in attachment). I had to revert to poppler 0.57.0

CRUX 3.5 test makes me happy

Hello. Hello. Hello. ^_^ Ok, for the first time ever i am running CRUX on bare metal and with X and multimedia. On an Ideapad 530S. I am happy. Thank you. I have not compiled X or something since i did self-built FreeBSD "world" installations, before about 2003 (before FreeBSD 5.3). With CRUX i have been able to be up and running on a single afternoon, also thanks to this supercomputer, of course. Thanks a lot. Wonderful, fantastic, great, wow. I am looking forward optimistically. I think i will add one cent and provide faad2 2.8 (needed in pipes, i think), sox, mawk, nawk, lmdb, bogofilter with lmdb, lynx 2.8.9.devX, dma (DragonFly BSD Mail Agent), tcc and pcc. After looking around some more in user repos, once i have a browser. I think i have to switch to firefox-bin, i don't dare to go chromium. Man, that's really great. A self-compiled system (more or less)! yahoo. ^_^ P.S.: i have sent mails because of build failures for xf86-video-intel, which was false, my shell wrapper (which tee(1)s the build) used install not depinst. Sorry. I think the other one was at least partially correct. And i think i should just adjust prt-get.conf and let that go to /tmp/ instead. P.P.S: i wonder why the git(1) package includes the message catalogs. I do things like (for i in GETTEXT PYTHON TCLTK; do echo NO_$${i}=1; done;\ cat Makefile) > Makefile.2nd &&\ $(GMAKE) -f Makefile.2nd prefix=$(MYPREFIX) all &&\ I have not done for some time, however. Crux-3.5rc0 and GUIs

Hi all, i installed (bare metal) Crux-3.5rc0 in 6 PCs (mine and of some friend of mine). No problem at all as regards the installation as far as having a working X. Problems do arise when trying to go further. It resulted impossible (at least, to me!) to have plasma 5 (KF5 repository) correctly working (it works fine with crux-3.4): no way to build and install spidermonkey (needed as dependence by many packages), polkit, udisks, polkit-qt5. polkit-kde-agent - so no user passwd is accepted at login screen, while it is possible to reach a virtual teminal (i.e., Alt+F2) and enter as user or root. Also impossible to have mate fully working, while it runs fine with crux-3.4. The difficulty to install a modern GUI is a marked obstacle for a non-guru user to the use of Crux as a substitute for Ubuntu, Debian, MX18, and Gentoo. I think it is necessary to verify as soon as possible why this happens with crux-3.5 and to furnish some simple how-to. We all like very much the fast install procedure of Crux and the entire over-under-lying ports mechanisms. Anyhow, many many thanks for your precious (and hard!) work. Giorgio Cittadini

Hello, what happened to the Crux homepage under https://crux.nu/ ? Currently it shows just the navigation, but not any content except the ports database. Regards Markus
