Hello,
Hello!
I have a 100 G partition left which I can use to test Crux. Now I have a few questions :
1) Which filesystem can I use the best ? ext4, zfs, brtfs
The CRUX installation media supports ext{2,3,4}, btrfs, xfs, jfs and reiserfs. There is no official support for zfs. Usually it's not that important which fs one uses in home / test installations. You may go the ext4-route as it can be upgraded to btrfs in place. btrfs is quite new and not that well tested as the other mentioned file systems. I personally prefer xfs but on this machine I use btrfs with the following layout.
2) What is a good partition scheme for that disk.
First of all: that that fits your needs best. I have, for example, separate / and /home partitions, both formatted with btrfs. Most notably no /boot partition as I see no benefit in it.
3) Which bootloader does Crux use ?
You can use grub, lilo and if you want to use UEFI+GPT partition layouts elilo. The bottom line is: you cannot be too wrong if you take a short break and think about the future needs for your installation with regard to partitions. kind regards, Thomas
