I still consider myself a novice to Linux (especially to kernel configuration) so any tips would be helpful :)
I hope you dont take this offensivly, but CRUX isnt designed for novices. It's created for powerusers that like to get there hands dirty and really dig deep and attempt to figure stuff out on their own. Also you are asking about your personal machine; where none of us will know what your setup will be. Also .configs are huge, i can tell you NONE of us will read that.
Sorry again, i dont mean to be harsh, but you should probably try to build a custom kernel on xubuntu and compare and play there before moving to a source based distro like CRUX.
This is EXACTLY why build my own CRUX system which is distributed and updated in binary form ONLY. It was too much of a hassle for the sys admins to mess around with sources etc. so I build all the packages etc and use modified ports to download and update the system with binary packages. CRUX is a beautifully elegant system but I think there is a LOT of room for improvement in the package management side of things. The CRUX community has the makings of a STUNNING enterprise ready OS,... shouldn't we pursue this? -- I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some from behind. But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have toubles with me! -- Dr. Seuss
