I tried this with Thunderbird-2.0.0.14/Firefox-3.0
[Thunderbird] 'Preferences/Advanced/Config editor', add/modify this values : user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.http", "/usr/bin/firefox"); user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.https", "/usr/bin/firefox"); After that, clicking links in TB opens them in new tab in FF-3.0
[Firefox] about:config, add 'network.protocol-handler.app.mailto', '/usr/bin/thunderbird'. It should work now...
Problem is I have had those settings for ages, and they worked fine with FF2/TB2, but they stopped working when I upgraded to FF3. However, I managed to fix the FF->TB connection by creating a completely new user FF profile and clicking on a mailto link, up popped a dialog box which allowed me to specify TB as mail application. The info seems to be saved only in mimeTypes.rdf: $ grep thunderbird .mozilla/firefox/uvsxa5df.default/* .mozilla/firefox/uvsxa5df.default/mimeTypes.rdf: NC:prettyName="thunderbird" .mozilla/firefox/uvsxa5df.default/mimeTypes.rdf: NC:path="/usr/bin/thunderbird" /> and sure enough, when I copied the new mimeTypes.rdf to my old profile, the mailto links (as well as File/Send Link) started to work. Still no luck with the TB->FF connection though. I have tried recompiling TB and creating a new user profile without success. -- Hälsningar/Best regards, Tom ________________________________________________________________________ Tom Rindborg Phone: +46-8-599 984 40 Stockholm, Sweden MailTo:Tom.Rindborg@fatburen.org "If you have to hate, hate gently."
