[notify] firefox: updated to 29.0.
As usual the update brings many security fixes: https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html
As you may know, this update brings a lot of big changes to the Firefox UI. And since it also brings a bunch of security fixes, holding off on updating is not really a sane option. But there are other alternatives. Mozilla themselves provides some tips on how to make the interface look a bit more like it used to look: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-make-new-firefox-look-like-old-f... Another alternative is to use the ESR-version. The current ESR version is based on Firefox 24, with backported security fixes. I maintain a port of firefox-esr and it can be located here: http://crux.nu/portdb/?a=search&q=firefox-esr If there is interest, I'm open to maintaning it in opt for extra convenience. Please also note that this port is not designed to be installed and run alongside the regular firefox port. So pick the version you like and uninstall the other one. If you would like to test both versions I recommend making a backup of ~/.mozilla first. -- Fredrik Rinnestam
