Hey Manu, thank you for responding to my resume issue. Suspending with the more raw "echo mem > /sys/power/state" works great, resume not unfortunately. I have installed Debian now to see if it was related to hardware failure. But if I use your command (echo mem etc) resume works great when I push the power button or Fn keys... . So that's not the issue. There was no acpi involved. I did not installed it, so I guess that my issue is related to my kernel config scales :-) My kernel config is done with "make localmodconfig" and go from there. Not the best method probably. I must admit that I am not the best kernel configure person. I am diving into the kernel ocean again today, hopefully with succes resumeing my laptop (ThinkPad X240, i5 processor) Cheers, Marco 2018-05-17 18:36 GMT+02:00 manu <maraku@gmx.com>:
Hi Marco,
pm-suspend does extra things for sleeping to deal with some quirks of machines. Have you tried using "echo mem > /sys/power/state"? If that works, then there's a problem with pm-suspend, if not, then it's probably a problem with kernel config/acpi.
Best, Manu

Hi all, If I use pm-suspend as root, the system goes to sleep. But there is no way to resume. I kan hear a click sound from the soundcard, but the system keeps sleeping. I can push the power button, but there is also no reaction...
Wat is the best way to debug this problem?
Some information for you:
Using the new iso 3.4 CRUX
cat /proc/acpi/wakeup Device S-state Status Sysfs node LID S4 *enabled platform:PNP0C0D:00 SLPB S3 *enabled platform:PNP0C0E:00 IGBE S4 *disabled pci:0000:00:19.0 EXP2 S4 *disabled pci:0000:00:1c.1 XHCI S3 *enabled pci:0000:00:14.0 EHC1 S3 *enabled pci:0000:00:1d.0
I have installed acpid, pm-utils and ofcourse enabled acpi_sleep in the kernel to suspend to RAM.
If you need more information, let me know what! Thank you for reading my email. Marco
