This is most likely a kernel and/or hardware related thing. Is that bug reproducable? (I think so. You are not the only one who got bitten.) Some steps you can try, if you have the possibilities to do so: 1. Try to put that drive to another SATA port. 2. Try a newer (the latest) Kernel 3. Try another SATA drive in the same Machine, if you have one. 4. Try another Mainboard (well, put that drive to another machine) and retry. Matt, what kernel version is on the latest updated CRUX iso you put yesterday on your server? http://jaeger.morpheus.net/linux/crux/files/updated-crux-iso/ Which Makefile do you use to build that? If the latest Kernel barks, too, send a bug report to the linux-ide mailing list including some detailed information about your hardware.
