device-mapper

Hi All, I'm trying to install crux 2.6 i386 but I'm having trouble. I believe the problem is with my kernel configuration. I built device-mapper, ext3 and lvm options statically but when I run the lilo command, I get: /proc/misc: no entry for device-mapper found Is device-mapper driver missing from kernel Failure to communicate with kernel device-mapper driver Fatal: open /dev/: Is a directory Can anyone give me some advice on this. Also, a somewhat related topic. If I mess up the kernel config, is it possible to recompile without starting the whole installation process again? Would "make clean" do the trick or are there some other commands I should issue? Thanks
