prt-get depinst gst-plugins-base-compat (*-compat ports are 0.10.x gstreamer, which xfce4-mixer needs, for now). You could installl both, since they can happily coexist on a system.

I would suggest you use alsa mixer for now, xfce4-mixer is somewhat broken (it requires libunique-1.x, and opt/libunique is 3.x). Or you could search for aumix at http://crux.nu/portdb/, that is what I used. Check it out http://jpj.net/~trevor/aumix/screenshot.html As a side note, consider enabling log files in /etc/prt-get.conf e.g ---- ### log options: writelog enabled # (enabled|disabled) logmode overwrite # (append|overwrite) rmlog_on_success yes # (no|yes) logfile /var/log/pkgbuild/%n.log ---- It would be much easier to figure out what is going on if you attach the build log when you post here. And since the log for the port is removed after the build completes successfully, it will not take any space on a hard drive. So win-win situation :) HTH Pedja
