Hi all, after some fiddling around I can now use crux-3.4 with plasma 5 (KF5) as my main OS. Only a problem: I'm forced to use as login manager "slim" (perfectly working) since "sddm" doesn't work. sddm and sddm-kcm are correctly installed, I put sddm in /etc/r.conf, but when I start the system I get instead of a login screen a black screen with only the mouse working. I must then run "Ctrl+Alt+F1" and I get the possibility to login as user and call plasma 5 with startx. If I try "sddm-greeter --test-mode --theme /usr/share/sddm/themes/maya" I get the correct login screen, I can enter username and password, but cannot move forward. I understand something is missing, and would be very obliged if someone would help me. Thanks. Giorgio Cittadini Attached is my sddm.conf.

If there is only one user, you can get rid of a login manager. On one of my PC with CRUX, I have a line in /etc/inittab which launches X for said user. Here is the last line of my inittab for a user named dumbo. x:2:once:/usr/bin/su dumbo -l -c "/bin/bash --login -c '/usr/bin/xinit' >/dev/null 2>&1" If user logs out, he ends up on tty1. Not very pretty, but I never liked login managers... Xavier
