Did a quick upgrade of a slightly outdated 3.4-based virtual machine. The upgrade was pretty straight forward and I did not experience a single issue. Will try it on a more feature complete system later this week. -- Joacim Olsen Tangen hi@joac.im

I did an upgrade on a clone of my current Crux 3.4. The upgrade process went smoothly. I had issues when I tried to run prt-get sysup yesterday (2019-04-24). Today (2019-04-25), I re-ran ports -u and prt-get sysup, and I have a bunch of packages which failed to install: .... pkgadd: listed file(s) already installed (use -f to ignore and overwrite) Concerned packages are: ldb, openssl-32g, p5-parse-yapp, p5-uri, readline-32, tdb. Samba failed probably because tdb wasn't upgraded. My upgrade is not conclusive because I didn't look at errors while upgrading packages yesterday. I will re-clone my Crux 3.4 and redo the upgrade more carefully. On my 3.4 Crux I did ports -u and prt-get sysup yesteday, before cloning it to test the upgrade. This morning, on my 3.4 Crux I did ports -u and prt-get diff. Results are strange: a bunch of downgrades... Is there a relation? Differences between installed packages and ports tree: Port Installed Available in the ports tree bash 5.0-1 4.4.23-1 db 5.3.28-2 5.3.28-1 db-32 5.3.28-2 5.3.28-1 filesystem 3.5-1 3.4-4 grub2 2.02-3 2.02-2 libdrm 2.4.97-1 2.4.98-1 openssl-32 1.1.1b-1 1.0.2r-1 p5-parse-yapp 1.05-2 1.05-1 p5-uri 1.72-2 1.72-1 ports 1.5-24 1.5-23 python 2.7.16-2 2.7.16-1 qemu-all 3.1.0-1 4.0.0-1 rc 2.31-2 2.31-1 readline-32 8.0-1 7.0.5-1 sqlite3-32 3.27.2-1 3.28.0-1 start-stop-daemon 20190310-1 20170812-1 sysklogd 1.5.1-7 1.5.1-6 tdb 1.4.0-1 1.3.18-1 Thanks, Xavier

Did you forget to run rejmerge before you ran ports -u? ports -u will sync with the 3.4 ports tree if you forget to run rejmerge and update the files in /etc/ports (or update them manually). -- Joacim

Yes, I did run rejmerge before updating (I checked the output of ports -u as well). Before, updating, I did a few prt-update -fr ??? I noticed that a few ports which failed to rebuild were in the list of ports which got upgraded yesterday and downgraded today (on Crux 3.4), tdb for example. Anyway, good news: I did a system update on Crux 3.4 and then recreated a clone of the system. The update went fine as well as the ports -u, prt-get sysup. After a revdep, I did several prt-get update -fr. Two of them failed, both from opt: cyrus-sasl w3m Thanks for your job, Xavier

I have a problem with Gimp. After opening it for testing, It didn't show any icon in the toolboxes. I did an update -fr on gimp and it failed, complaining about libgobject. I rebuilt glib to fix this. But now, when I try to rebuild Gimp, I get an error during dependencies checking:: Error: missing dependency glib >= 2.54.2 (glib is 2.58) Thanks, Xavier

Would you mind sending me the prt-get buildlog for these?

updating cyrus-sasl to 2.1.27 should resolve that issue. Don't use w3m so cant say there.
regards, Thomas
