Hi CRUX lacks of colours due to it's conservative KISS approach, I think colours may add some readability and fun (;}), so if anyone is interested in making crux more colourful, I prepared slightly modified initscripts[1][2] and pkgmk[3][4] patch(attached). rc_mod: [1] http://maxiq.ovh.org/CRUX/rc_mod/ here be screenies: [2] http://maxiq.ovh.org/CRUX/rc_mod/rc_mod.png [3] http://maxiq.ovh.org/CRUX/kolorki.jpg [4] http://maxiq.ovh.org/CRUX/kolorki2.jpg

I agree. And I must admit I wondered why the color 'theme' present in the 2.4 install cd initscripts wasn't present in the system initscripts as well. They're nice! (=

I understand that this feature is something superfluous, and many may dislike it. But I suggest it to be available at ports. Perhaps if you put your patches in a port at the contrib collection or something. :-) [ uninstall patches would be good, also. ] By the way, Are there any other brazilians (than Thiago Coutinho) here in the Crux mailing list? I guess Bartek's stuff could be shipped as two ports: pkgutils and rc. Duplicating those in contrib is a no-no though (the confusion!), but putting them in some httpup repository and linking it from the wiki would work of course. Oh sure! haha :-) I didn't mean it to have the same name as the 'original' tools. I wondered something like 'rc-colors' and 'pkgutils-colors'.

It seems a good solution! =) Regards, Mauricio

Regards, Tilman I have written short wiki page[1], if you have got anything interesting to add there, you are free to do it. The pkgutils patch has some weird bug, DON'T use it (although it has rather low severity, and doesn't cause any serious malfunctions). I'll try to fix it and add some more configurabilityb in near future.
