FS#235 - prt-get depinst pinentry fiails to build, missing X11 User who did this - Simon Gloßner (Viper)
---------- Ok, I'll add this dependency. Totally forgotten this bug report. :-) ----------
My gawd so this means that if i wanna use prt-get depinst ketchup on my SERVER it'll pull in xorg for a SERVER not bright at all, and not happy. Yet another stupid decision. I'll maintain my own copy.

Is it stupid that pintentry depends on X11? Yes. Is Simon stupid for adding it as a dependency? No. Distro patching is a bad thing (tm) Sounds like an upstream bug, has anyone contacted the upstream developers? -- Lucas Hazel <lucas@die.net.au>

I've understood that. I proposed to create a pinentry-curse or pinentry-nox11 port with --enable-embedded. Just commenting the testing for X stuff out of the configure script isn't a good thing. Regards

libx11 does NOT pull in xorg (as in the server). See 'prt-get deptree xorg-libx11', kthx. Regards, Tilman -- A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing? A: Top-posting. Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

Also, prt-get can lock the not installed xorg-libx11 package, I believe. Try prt-get lock xorg-libx11. ... and since prt-get update doesn't install missing dependencies atm, this is really to work around if you care so much about a handfull of X protocol packages :D Regards, Tilman -- A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
