Hi,
I'm pleased to announce the release of CRUX 2.5.
How differnt is final compare to RC2?
RC2 shipped with a broken libgmp package, which could cause GCC to die with an internal compiler error. See http://crux.nu/bugs/index.php?do=details&task_id=386 I suggest to update to the libgmp package that is on the CRUX 2.5 ISO. Regards, Tilman -- A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing? A: Top-posting. I was about to ask about this problem ;) Wawrzek -- Wawrzyniec Niewodniczański vel Wawrzek Larry or LarryN Linux User #177124 E-MAIL: wawrzek@gmail.com PhD in Quantum Chemistry WWW: http://wawrzek.name MSc in Molecular Engineering JID: larryn@chrome.pl

Is it possible to grab only this package without rest? I don't see the point to 'stole' bandwidth from other user if not necessery. I have a VPS running form an initial 64bit install of CRUX 2.5 from a week or so ago (prior to this final release). Should I just download/mount the ISO and pkgadd -r * all the ports ? cheers James

Please ask for commit privileges for atleast opt-x86_64 on crux.nu. It would be nice if we could get an official 64bit-port out the door asap. -- /Fredrik Rinnestam

Thank you all, for CRUX-2.5! :-) I just tested some of the mirrors after I realized that ftp://code-monkey.de/pub/crux/crux-2.5/iso/ as well as doesn't contain any data. .../latest/iso is working, however. ftp://code-monkey.de/pub/crux/latest/ftp-install/ doesn't exist anymore. It can be removed from http://crux.nu/Main/Download When accessing the Kazakhstan mirror, ftp://fido.online.kz/crux/ asks me for a password and doesn't show any files in the case it's not available. ftp://mirrors.industrium.ru/crux/crux-2.5/iso/ still contains the release candidates, which should be removed. http://www.codelux.gr/mirrors/crux/ doesn't contain crux-2.5 http://www.mnkiespalace.com/crux/ doesn't contain the sources and the contrib .iso images. Can somebody please verify/fix this, where possible? Thank you, regards, Clemens ...und einen guten Rutsch/Rausch! ;-)
