Hi! I've started learning Japanese and I want to write it on my CRUX box too. Have anyone build packages or modified configuration(s) to get Japanese input working on CRUX? Please help me. I've read a lot about canna and kinput2... but nothing related to CRUX. Else I'll build some packages and create a HowTo. :) Bye, Wolfram. -- Wolfram Gerlach = http://www.wolfram.name = http://www.EckigesAuge.de PGP-Key = 6653CDE5 Wolfram Gerlach <mail@wolfram.name> Fingerprint = 0884 2275 C283 47E4 8330 42A4 003A 3795 6653 CDE5

Bye, Wolfram.
You might have some problems trying to japanesify your crux box. NLS support is non existant in official crux ports. -- Lucas Hazel <lucas@die.net.au> ================================================= "Clothes make the man. Yeah, but applications like Firefox 2, OpenOffice.org 2 or Claws-Mail works with japanese input. I just want to use Japanese on these apps. I haven't used it, but I came across this input method extension for KDE: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=15437 You might also want to get the KDE Japanese translation, its untested yet, but you can install it with the attached Pkgfile. All the translations will be published in the KDE repository as soon as they are tested. Then, if you see strange squares instead of strange gibberish (aka japanese) you have to install some japanese fonts too. Regards, Alan
