Hi there CRUX Folks, Just a quick announcement about our CRUX MATE repository. Matt H. and I have been slowly putting it together and I think it's at the point now where we'd be happy to encourage others to make use of it. I've personally been very satisfied with MATE as a Desktop Environment. If you've not heard of MATE you can find out more about it here. http://mate-desktop.org The repository URL: http://crux-mate.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ The quickstart documentation https://code.google.com/p/crux-mate/ We know it's not perfect so please report bugs and problems so we can move it in the right direction! Also a quick question; how does one get their repository listed on the CRUX ports db page? Chris K.
Hi and thanks for porting MATE. Several weeks ago I have installed MATE on my CRUX box and I feel very happy using it, although I have to create my own ports for mate-extras. If any one is interested I could expose them. Just to repeat my issue (posted on project site): you have increase version of mate-desktop (from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2) to resolve annoying bug about thumbnail in caja. Currently I did it locally but my changes are overwritten after every "ports- u". Thank you again :) 2012/12/10 Chris Kruger <chris.kruger@gmail.com>:
