Hello, I try to update system port after installation with command ports -u, the result fail (see below). I did many times (after I did the little change my configuration), but nothing change, I always get the same result "fail). Can somebody help me to figure out this?. I don't know what is wrong in my configuration. # ports -u Updating file list from crux.nu::ports/crux-2.4/contrib/ rsync: getaddrinfo: crux.nu 873: Temporary failure in name resolution The hostname 'crux.nu' can't be resolved, which points to a DNS issue on your machine. You may want to double check that.
Hope this helps, Johannes -- Johannes Winkelmann mailto:jw@smts.ch Zurich, Switzerland http://jw.smts.ch

If that don't resolve you either have not setup networking or your /etc/resolv.conf is incorrect or you have a firewall issue.

I'm also unable to run ports -u. Also, I am unable to reach the crux.nu website. This kind of looks like a DNS issue. Did the IP address of the website change recently? Can someone send out the IP address for the website so I can add it to my local host file. crux.nu doesn't work for me, either, and I haven't touched my router/config files for a long time. bye richi

Hi, Recently i got interested in kde4 so i decided to look deeper into portdb, alancio (kde repository maintainer) decided to stay for now w/ kde 3.5 considering KDE 4.x unstable, ecarux collection contains KDE 4.1.3 ports that seems to work well and (quite)stable. To give something from myself to freaks of _latest_ but not_so_stable software I prepared kde4-svn repository, all sources are fetched from svn before building (please consult README (found at the root of kde4-svn collection) before using). I think new composited kwin is good for people who can't make compiz to work ;]. kde4-svn.httpup attached cheers Bartek ROOT_DIR=/usr/ports/kde4-svn URL=http://maxiq.ovh.org/CRUX/kde4-svn/
