Poweroff doesn't power off
Hi, I experience sporadic malfunctions of /sbin/poweroff (launched by pressing the power button). It leaves a message like this on the screen: [8383.434840]: System halted and the computer remains powered on. It's not a big deal, but I wonder what could be the reason. I definitly haven't done anything special in these cases. Any ideas? Bernd -- http://sudrala.de

Sounds like ACPI issues. What kernels have you tested with and can you post your kernel config somewhere? -- Fredrik Rinnestam

Thanks for the hint. In fact, I noticed that I had two ACPI rules both calling poweroff, which might have caused some kind of race condition. I fixed this, and shutdown appears to work normal now. Regards, Bernd -- http://sudrala.de
Hey Bernd, have you try shutdown -P now ? /Niklas On 04/28/2014 08:18 PM, Bernd Eggink wrote:
