Crux' wikipedia page
Hey, it seems that some wikipedia administrator deleted the Crux page claiming there is a copyright violation with Per's (published) Crux 2.2 Handbook... What do You think? i think neither Per nor anyone in here wanted the removal of Crux Linux from Wikiepda, and none else has the right to claim removal. furthermore the handbook is now on the wiki on trac, right? is that copyright violation then??? bye, giorgio -- NullPointer || GnuPG/PGP Key-Id: 0x343B22E6

It seems somebody is pretending the wikipedia page violates this printed edition: http://www.linux-books.us/crux_0001.php , whose distributors clearly has no copyright on, as they correctly state at http://www.linux-books.us

The suggested action from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crux_Linux seems to add a note to this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:CRUX explaining the situation. Before doing that, I think we need to clarify under which license the handbook is released, at least for the current version. (Maybe we can hear from Pér about this?) Since we're not a formal organization, I'm not confident it's possible to assign copyright to The CRUX Team or similar, we may need to list all the copyright holders, and later choose a license. It would be nice also to add both a license and copyright statement to the other docs floating around. Anybody willing to take care of the problem? I suggest: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/licenses.html#FDL

I don't think we should take this topic too seriously - this is not Debian ;-) Anyhow you are right, there must be a solution that other projects/organization like wikipedia are on the save side.

IMHO it is the best/easiest way to add a gobal statement in the "about"-page or in the wiki-footer.

I agree to do this, but i accede to you to hear Pér's opinion first, because most of the handbook was his work. For "around floating docs" we announce the choosen license here, and when nobody of authors raises his voice this license will be set for all docs. Regards, Till -- http://www.tbmnet.de
