[clc-devel] advocates for new contrib members

Hi, It seems there are more and more people who want to join the new contrib, and I think it would be a good idea so start a similar model as we had at CLC for maintainers: 1. in order to join contrib, you have to find someone to advacate for you 2. the advocate is responsible for helping the candidate to get started, and should observe him for a while to make sure he's doing a good job Everyone who's part of 'contrib' already is invited to be an advocate (assuming that he's been part of the system for some time, like one month or so). Hi, I've started to put a bit of work into a local trac (0.91) installation in order to provide a (still) light but a bit more personalized appearance to the CRUX website. Hi, If you want to get the rsync ports, you can do the following: 1. install rsync 2. get the ports driver from http://www.karsikkopuu.net/crux/misc/rsync 3. move the driver to /etc/ports/drivers and make it executable 4. get http://jw.tks6.net/files/crux/core.rsync http://jw.tks6.net/files/crux/opt.rsync http://jw.tks6.net/files/crux/contrib.rsync 5. mkdir /usr/ports/rsync 6. run ports -u This should give you tthe latest ports in /usr/ports/rsync. I'm going to cc this email to the crux-dev list too, to see if we get any movement or words from the x86 guys. I think if we make it more of a "cross platform" we can consolidate a lot of already known issues and be able to anticipate many of them too. If i remember correctly Matt Housh (irc: jaeger) is willing to help beta test some of the releases too. (Matt if i got that wrong please tell me ;). ) I'm excited that we are breathing new life into the project, though i know there are compile issues they still are all just 1s and 0s.
