Hello, I'm trying to set up Cups on my crux 2.2 box for parallel printing to a Canon i550. I was kind of thinking using it as a printserver. I enabled parallel port support in the kernel (built in support for all options to be sure I didn't miss anything). However, I cannot seem to find any /dev/lp stuff or something to hook my printer to the parallel port. I tried /dev/port, but I get this error from CUPS web interface when trying to print a test page: Unable to open parallel port device file "/dev/port": Permission deniedI get this from lpstat: # lpstat -p Canoni550 printer Canoni550 disabled since Wed Jan 17 21:52:26 2007 - /usr/lib/cups/backend/parallel failed # Any ideas?
