i finished CRUX installation and then installed Windowmaker and ran Firefox but fonts do not look good :-(
First of all: What makes a font look good? Maybe _you_ find the font you are using ugly? There is always the possibility of enabling/disabling antialiasing (some people find not using it to be more readable, while others prefer antialiasing). Running X in a high enough resolution is essential.
on Arch Linux i have to install "xorg-fonts-100dpi" "xorg-fonts-75dpi" and "ttf-ms-fonts" packages to make fonts look good. what i can do in CRUX ?
There are a lot of fonts available, and ports for some can be found using crux.nu. Remember to add all font paths to the xorg.conf. If fonts exist under /usr/share/fonts/..., you will not enjoy them if X only searches under /usr/lib/X11/fonts/... The command «xset q» will display the font paths X uses. X also hashes the fonts, so after you have installed a font, X will not find it before the font path is rehashed. -- Robert Bauck Hamar Semikolon markerer en litt kortere pause enn punktum; det kan bare stå mellom selvstendige setninger.
