Hello, I installed MATE according to the quick install guide on the googlecode page.Everything went well and the MATE desktop starts. But then the mouse and keyboard are not working. As I start in runlevel 3 the prompt the keyboard is working fine. I enabled config-udev in the kernel. Anyone a idea how to fix this ? Roelof

I have had this problem in the past. My memory is foggy but I think I needed to compile the evdev module into the kernel as well. I think it's CONFIG_INPUT_EVDEV=y in the kernel .config file. Check for it. Also can be enabled via menuconfig obviously. Hope this solves your problem! On Fri, Jan 18, 2013 at 2:40 AM, Roelof Wobben <rwobben@hotmail.com> wrote:

Probably it's xorg related problem. I had the same, but I ain't use MATE. The probable solution, as described here http://lists.crux.nu/pipermail/crux/2008-November/008688.html is to either set AllowEmptyInput to false in your xorg.conf, or switch to the xf86-input-evdev driver for your keyboard and mouse. Hope this helps. -- Peter
