Updating udev to 096

Good evening list, after updating udev from version 087 to 096 I recieved the following error: INIT: Id 1 respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id 2 respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id 3 respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id 4 respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id 5 respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id 6 respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: no more prozesses left in this runlevel Do I have to change a config or something? I had this problem about half a year before with another version and solved it either by downgrading to old version or updating to a newer one. I'm running kernel 2.6.18.1; config should be alright because I always copy the working .config from the former kernel version. Any ideas? So long Haiko

New contrib repository

Hi, Lately we've been working on a new model[1][2] for the contrib repository, which is now hosted on crux.nu. Contrib users should update their contrib.rsync file, available here: http://crux.nu/portdb/?a=getup&q=contrib or in the 'core/ports' port. Note that not every previous contrib member has joined the new contrib yet, so the number of available ports is small. Hello, I just replied to a mail that was sent to crux(a)lists.crux.nu, realizing too late that I was replying to the original sender, not to the list. Could the Reply-To headerfield of mails received from the mailinglist be set to crux(a)lists.crux.nu by default (note that this will leave the From field intact)? That would be more convenient. Testers needed for KDE 3.5.5 ports

Hello list, The ports for KDE 3.5.5 are ready, but I need some testers to ensure everything is fine before submitting to the official repo. If you want to try them out, just get them from my personal repo: http://www.mizrahi.com.ve/crux/pkgs/ To subscribe to my ports just wget http://www.mizrahi.com.ve/crux/pkgs/alan.httpup -O /etc/ports/alan.httpup and then add "prtdir /usr/ports/alan" to /etc/prt-get.conf Some notes worth mentioning: - kdeaccessibility hasn't been ported yet. This requires festival (missing in action) or other tts engine first, I haven't decided yet if I will make ports for this. - esound was removed as a dependency of arts - tetex was removed as a dependency of kdegraphics - I have added shortcuts for searching in crux ports and youtube videos on konqueror - hal/dbus integration isn't working yet, I think we will have to wait for kde4 Please report any problems as soon as possible, so they can be fixed before submitting to the official repo. x11r7 (aka xorg) port repository moved

Hi folks, my "x11r7" ports repository is now hosted on crux.nu, under the name "xorg". If you're using the x11r7 repo, please update your system like this: cd /etc/ports rm x11r7.rsync wget -O xorg.rsync "http://crux.nu/portdb/?a=getup&q=xorg" rm -rf /usr/ports/x11r7 ports -u xorg Port names or contents didn't change of course. php5 build fails (--with-apxs2)

Following the guidelines in http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.unix.apache2.php I thought I might add PHP5 support to Apache 2. Apache runs fine. Php builds without the --with-apxs2 option. However when I added '--with-apxs2=/usr/sbin/apxs \' to the Pkgfile the php build fails ending with: [stuff deleted] Build complete. (It is safe to ignore warnings about tempnam and tmpnam). + install -D -m 755 sapi/cgi/php /usr/ports/contrib/php/work/pkg/usr/bin/php install: cannot stat `sapi/cgi/php': No such file or directory =======> ERROR: Building '/usr/ports/contrib/php/php#5.1.6-1.pkg.tar.gz' failed. bash-3.1# I am without clues and cannot find a hint that works on the php forums or elsewhere.
