installed system would not start

Hello, I installed Crux on a VMware system.Did all the steps from the manual without any problem. So I rebooted and I see this message : lilo loading Crux Bios data check sucessfulKernel panic - not syncing VFS: Unable to mount rootfs on unknown block (0,8). The system is one partition of 8G ext4 in the kernel. Roelof

disk full message when installing

Hello, As a test I try to install Crux on a VMWare.So I made a 8G disk and formatted it with btrfs.Then I start up the installer and all the packages installed fine( Core, Xorg and Contrib).So far no problem. Then I try to change the contents of /etc/rc.conf as described in the manual.As soon as I try to save it, I get a disk full message. Is 8G to little for a install or is there something else wrong ? Hello, I have a 100 G partition left which I can use to test Crux.Now I have a few questions : 1) Which filesystem can I use the best ? ext4, zfs, brtfs 2) What is a good partition scheme for that disk. 3) Which bootloader does Crux use ? Regards, Roelof

Hello, I have just installed the updated texlive port texlive 20120701-2 for Crux 2.8. One addition I have to make: You need to run "fmtutil-sys --all" as root before texlive is usable for text processing. Perhaps this should be added to the port as a post-install script. Besides that I have not found any problems with the port so far. Thanks a lot. Regards Markus
