Hi all,
Is it possible to upgrade to 2.3 without booting from CD-rom och NFS?
My machine in not located in the nearby and lacks CD-rom and has a slow
network connection and hosted by a person with the same knowledge about
linux as my mother.
I was thinking of changing the /etc/ports/* to point to 2.3 instead and
recompile gcc, glibc, install them and recompile the kernel and reboot (and
hope for the best).
(I think) I did something similar when I migrated from 2.1 to 2.2 and it
worked fine. But do you who know how it works under the hood have any good
advice?
Best regards
